“POP already thinks, and thinks itself—and then begins to try and hide the evidence, to deliberately reflect in its works the supposed mystery of its immediacy.” Agnes Gayraud.
The feedback I’ve had for the past year repeated quite a lot my choices being “spontaneous and not enough conscious” which I don’t agree. I know I haven’t been formally sharing about my process enough (I am a pistachio we couldn’t open) but the process could be followed inside my work and I insist that it only makes my intention stronger that I am giving my aims and reflections of my work inside my work in their own patterns.
I am joyfully and painfully and carefully controlling on my poetry and music production (as people who I’ve collabed with also pointed this out, Gustavo almost had a nerves attack because of how rigidly precise I am). In contrary, spending all my energy on the details of the sonical and linguistic shit, that for my performances I decided to let (maybe too) many things be guided by the moment, hoping that would help me get another layer of contradiction and originality, but that spontaneity was misinterpreted as my lack of intentionality of what I do overall :(
I will rehearse much more this year. I will also share my beloved references that were maybe way too hidden (beware that these writers are much more playful than I am when it comes to speaking of their work). now follow the rose 🌹
